NOAC Covid-19 Relief Grant

The mission statement of the Noahs of Ark Emmaus community is, “Empowering leaders through Emmaus & Chrysalis to be the hands and feet of Christ.” Never has that statement been more important or relevant than it is right now. 2020 has seen a tremendous upheaval in all elements of our lives, including strains on our social networks, inability to worship together face to face, medical uncertainty, and economic hardship. Our own Noahs of Ark community has been directly impacted as members of our community have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

Prayer, compassion, encouragement, and self-care are vital in times like this but as we know, when the time was right Jesus and his disciples healed the sick, fed the hungry, gave water to the thirsty, and provided for the poor. The Board of Noahs of Ark (NOA) has made the unanimous decision that one way we will be the hands and feet of Christ in this time of need is to offer monetary grants to those in our communities suffering economic hardship in these uncertain times.

GUIDELINES

1. A NOA Reunion Group may apply for grant funds up to a total of $1500 effective immediately until May 31, 2020. The Board will reassess the remaining funds at that time and re-open requests as available.

2. Each request must be no more than $500 per request.

3. Each individual request must be sponsored by at least two (2) non-related members of a NOA Reunion Group.

4. The request will be approved by an appointed NOA Board subcommittee as expeditiously as possible.

5. Requests related to direct impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic response will be prioritized, including lay-offs, significant reduction in work hours, medical hardship, child care, elderly care, food insecurity, etc.

6. Requests cannot be directed to another non-profit, such as charity organizations, churches, civic groups, etc. The requests must be for direct impact to individuals and families impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 issues in our community.

7. NOA Reunion Groups are encouraged to seek opportunities to be the hands and feet of Christ to serve individuals or families outside of the NOA community.

8. If interested NOA members are not part of an active reunion group, they may form a reunion group or coordinate with an existing one. Contact any member of the NOA Board for a list of reunion groups.
